Medline Fire Today, Update after Tracy warehouse fire

Medline has shared a new progress report outlining its ongoing recovery efforts following the fire that impacted its Tracy, California, distribution facility in June. The company says its priority remains supporting affected employees, serving customers, and assisting neighboring communities as restoration work continues.

According to a Medline spokesperson, response efforts have advanced steadily in recent weeks. The company emphasized that it is working closely with partners to restore normal operations while maintaining reliable service throughout Northern California.

One of the most significant milestones involves environmental cleanup. Medline reported that Clean Harbors has completed cleanup activities at more than 660 properties affected by debris from the incident. The cleanup operation remains ongoing in other areas as crews continue working to ensure impacted neighborhoods are safely restored.

To strengthen its supply chain during the recovery period, Medline has also increased product shipments, expanded inventory levels, and enhanced transportation capacity across Northern California. These measures are intended to minimize disruptions for healthcare providers and customers who rely on the company’s medical products and distribution network.

In addition, Medline has secured leases for two large warehouse facilities—one in Tracy and another in nearby Stockton. Company officials said the new locations are expected to increase customer-facing capacity by approximately 45%, helping improve distribution capabilities while longer-term recovery efforts continue.

The company also provided encouraging news for employees affected by the fire. Beginning Sunday, workers previously assigned to the damaged Tracy facility will have the opportunity to return to work at nearby Medline locations. Employees will also have the option to transfer to the company’s new Tracy warehouse if they choose, offering additional flexibility as operations expand.

Medline expressed appreciation for the patience and support shown by employees, customers, and the surrounding community throughout the recovery process. The company reiterated its commitment to restoring operations safely and efficiently while continuing to meet the needs of healthcare providers across the region.

Although work remains to be done, the latest update reflects significant progress in Medline’s recovery efforts. Through expanded warehouse capacity, ongoing environmental cleanup, and continued support for its workforce, the company says it remains focused on rebuilding stronger while maintaining dependable service for customers throughout Northern California.
