While six adults and one child were rescued, the three children were later found with the submerged boat. Kate attended Grace McWayne Elementary School in Batavia, where she excelled both academically and creatively. She enjoyed singing with her school choir, expressing herself through painting, and participating in athletics. Tennis was among her greatest passions, and she trained with Five Star Tennis in Plainfield, Vaughan Tennis Club in Aurora, and Hendricks Elite Academy in Lockport, where her determination and love for the sport earned admiration from coaches and teammates alike.
